All Apple employees get a free iPhone Apple store is ready to sell the iPhone (almost)
Jun 28

So, tomorrow (June 29) all of the Apple faithful in the US get their hands on the iPhone.  Good for you…

What about Canada?  How long do we have to wait.  We have been very lucky in the past when it comes to getting new versions of Blackberry devices.  Often, that happens at the same time or even sometimes earlier than it does it the US.  Any coincidence that RIM is a Canadian company?  Or maybe Rogers is that easy to deal with? How will that change when they are dealing with Apple? (And yes it will be Rogers since its a GSM phone)

To me the reason this may take longer than it should is due to the data plan.  Rogers makes a boatload of money from their corporate data plans.  currently a 25Mb plan is much more than what AT&T is proposing as part of their iPlans.  So what will happen?  My guess is that Rogers will see the demand and then want the iPhone enough to make the needed adjustments in the data plan pricing.
